I've seen many post about this similar setup. I recently reset the bios and I'm now running the default setting to OC 10%. However it put my memory timings at 3,3,3,8. I think my memory can run with better timings. Can someone help me out in finding a sweet spot for my setup. I'd really like to hit the 2.2ghz range, but will take what I can get with this hardware.

AMD 64 3000+
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
1024 MB of Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2

*Bios 1004
*Stock cooling, Load is under 34c
*Case cooling excellent
*No Serial ATA devices or add on cards
*System is used for Gaming only!

Guys,

Your basic guide to us...um..less understanding guys isn't basic. This is why we're posting. I'm looking for someone to say something like this...

To start out. Back out of your changes and make sure your system is running default. Once that's done let check your CPU overclocking by keeping your memory running at the standard rating which is 2,2,2,6 1T. Now do this to your CPU? Don't go too high, lets just get you at a sweet spot.

Okay Memory time...

Sorry if this seems just like your previous posts, but I need you to walk me through the first couple times to get comfortable.

Doesn't get any more basic than explaining what the busses are, what they do, and how and why you change them. What the voltages are and why you change them, and guide lines. Examples and tips. Go to asus's forum for particulars about how their bios is arranged and what they call things.

Your computer will not explode. If you don't know how to reset your CMOS stop now.
Seriously, Asus has a great forum, they know your board and can get specific. They probably have images of your bios to walk you through it. Read the stickies. there. Read some of the overclocking guides on the web. You need to do your research.
