Help with Outlook Express 5.0.. Cant save password

Well this is my prob. In Outlook express 5.0 running on WinME I can not save my passwords for my email account. When I go to account, properties, server I try to enter my email password for my earthlink email account. As soon as I leave properties it refuses to save the password. So now email asks me for the pass every time. I did not always have this prob either, as it just started today.

Anyone know a fix, maybe the reg key where the info is stored?
