Help with OpenVPN

Hey guys, I want to install a VPN for safer browsing on the go and wanted to give OpenVPN a try. However, it's more complicated than I thought. For starters what do I install? On openvpn's webpage there's a how-to that links to installers with GUI and ones without. Seems like there's a bunch of ways to get OpenVPN working. Can anyone help/guide me through installing OpenVPN.
