Help with old DLink DI-713P

It looks like the wireless portion on the old DLink DI-713P has finally given up the ghost altogether (was dropping connections occasionally before, now it can't keep any) and was wondering if there's any workarounds to get some form of wireless from it again (the wired part still works). Now, before anyone asks "Jeez--just buy a new router!", the 713 is one of the few that has a serial port on it, which I need (am sharing a dialup connection via an analog modem, believe it or not), and unfortunately, one of those Netgear 114s or Dlink 824VUPs just isn't in the budget.

Can I chain another router into it (using that as an access point) to get some form of wireless and if so, will any of the usual "cheap AR/FAR" ones work?

Dlink! ***spits on the unit*** Cheap piece of crap.

If you have a spare RJ45 outlet on it, you can buy a AP and just plug it into that. Acess points dont need a wireless router, as long as you have a spare ports.

My parents have a cable modem and wired router. I just pluged the AP to one of the pre wired cat5 plugs that are througout the house, and works like a top. No issues or DC's
