help with nre vid card

i jjust installed a 9600 pro on my cpu and it runs Hl 2 and all my other games crappily. I installed the latest drivers and it still runs bad

P 4 2 ghz
512 ram
old card is geforce 2 gts

with the 9600 pro it is always under 20 fps at lowest resoluton. i think that i installed the card properly and got the newest drivers and deleeted my old drivers

what could b wrong

i disabled fast write still didnt fix it
 
its with all of my other games.

i really dont want to hav to reformat, does reformating deleat everyhing? and do u need a windows xp CD to reformat?

yeah i already did spyware and virus tests

Run DXDIAG and see if your AGP acceleration is enabled.

Also run driver cleaner to remove any old nv drivers.
 
what resolution are you trying to run at? it's not like you have a top of the line system there, you may be trying to push it too far...
 
What other games have you tried? Have you tried using older drivers? Do you have the proper chipset drivers for your motherboard? Do you have directx 9c installed? Have you run directX diagnostics? I would also run 3dmark01 and see what kind of score you get..
