Help with no post on P4

I have a Dell dimesion 4300 here and I cant get it to post. This computer belongs to my Aunt and she brought it here for me to take a look at since I am the only "computer guy" she knows. Anyway she said one day it stopped working, I asked her what happened and she said one day it just would not turn on. Well I have it here and went through the usual, I disconnected all the drives and left only the hard drive, video and RAM, still no post no beeps nothing. Next I tried it with no RAM and got some error beeps, tried the RAM in a different slot and nothing. Next i tried swapping power supplys and still nothing. I am thinking well it must be either the video card, motherboard, and CPU or maybe memory. Im not sure where to go from here im kinda stumped and I dont own any intel/P4 stuff so I cant try to swap those out, I have my Geforce3 video card BUT im not going to stick it in there and risk screwing up my $200 card. There are four lights ont the back of the computer right above the keyboard/mouse ports that are flashing green and orange I have to assume its some sort of error codes but I cant find any info on the Dell website, I cant even figure out who made this motherboard for Dell, hell I cant even find a clear CMOS jumper on this board. Well my first experience with a P4 hasnt been fun, any help or sugestions is appreciated thanks.

I don?t know about Dell specific hardware, but an empty motherboard (i.e. without a CPU or memory) will still POST (or beep)... at least that has been my experience from the past.

I?m curious... doesn?t Dell provide a 2-year warrantee or something on their systems?

With no memory installed I get beeps but NO POST. And yes the Dell comes with a one year warranty but im trying to test my troubleshooting skills or rather I have started something and hate to give up so easily.

i found this on the dell site.. shows you what the led's mean.. the amber ones should tell you what the problem is.. you didnt say which were which color though so i cant tell you what it is, but id imagine you can figure that out for yourself anyhow 🙂
