help with new system, asus a8n premium, amd 3500+, etc..

I upgraded my computer for Christmas and I am having major problems. I have installed the essentials and everytime I turn on my computer it shuts off almost immediately. Sometimes it turns off right after i turn it on and sometimes it will post, show the mobo start up screen, let me press the delete key to go to the bios and then it will turn off. I have:

AMD 3500+
Asus A8N-Sli Premium
512mb OCZ DDR (1 stick)
evga 7800gt
SATA 250gb hdd
500W NeoHE

I thought it was my cpu overheating since I took it from my other system, so i cleaned it and the heatsink, put on new thermal paste, reinstalled and it still does it. I dont know what to do since it shuts off so fast.
 
posted on asus forum as well and found out that my new NeoHE 500W psu is not compatable with this mobo. I read that i can upgrade the bios and it should work, we shall see.
 
is that a joke, Antec is a no name brand? I think that you misunderstood. The NeoHE is Antecs new line of PSU's that are supposed to be very efficient and pretty quiet. It is like a follow up to the NeoPower series.
