Hello all I have an X300 (listed in my sig) that i'm looking at upgrading. I have an SLI mobo and am thinking of upgrading it seeing as I can't play any modern games with the one i have very well. I'm looking at spending like 150-200 max less if possible. I don't care if its SLI or not what ever would be the best in my case. I'm hoping to get some thing like COD2 or some shooter games soon as a referance and i have a 17in LCD monitor. I usualy run my windows at 1280*960res. Thanks as always

x800GTO2 from Newegg for $200, softmod it to x850xtpe speeds. You won't be able to SLI it though ;). Or, if you don't like modding, get the 6800GS for $200.

You will probably have to play COD2 on a low resolution (1024x768) with eye candy or no AA/AF on 1280x960 in order to get smooth framerates. GTO2 is a good choice nevertheless.

Yeah, and you'd need the same settings on a 7800gt for smooth fps, so I wouldnt worry about it.
