its the SmartBurn feature that limits your speeds according to what your CDs are rated at. to turn it off, its in choose recorder -> advanced -> smartburn check. depends on your CD, you might be able to burn up to 48x if your CD is rated at 16. I have Fujifilm 16x CDs that goes up to 48x no prob.

I am running WinXP with Nero 5.5.8.2

Seamless link is just buffer-underrun protection. That should always be enabled. Sounds like Nero hasn't started to completely support your writer with your version of Nero. Depending on what you are trying to burn, you could download "BurnatOnce". It handles all sorts of cd images and can burn audio cds.

It is not the drivers. There are no drivers for cd-rw drives under windows. The software enables you to burn cds.

Upgrade your Nero if possible

Sh*tonastick 🙂

I use a variety of software for my burning needs.

I use Burnatonce for ISO, bin/cue.

Nero for audio and compilations of data cds.

You could give Easy CD creator a try even though I hate that piece of crap software.
