Help with NAS connection.

Ok I have a D-Link Nas station that works just fine. That problem that I am having is, I ran network line to my dinning room from my basement so I can connect my laptop. However I am unable to connect to the NAS box via my wired connection. I usually use Filezilla to transfer files and it shows that I am connecting to the box its logging in and the password is accepted, but I am unable to access all the sub folders. Now, if I connect to the NAS box from same laptop via my wireless connection everything works fine. What am I missing?
