Help with my Princeton 18 LCD Moniter

I installed a new graphics card, a HIS 9800 pro, and when I booted into safe mode after unistalling my NVIDIA drivers i noticed the colors on the screen were wierd but chalked it up to running in safe mode. After I installed the ATI drivers from the CD, I booted up regular and the colors on my LCD are all out of whack, it is weird - it seems like someone messed with my gamma and brightness controls or something.

I unistalled the ATI drivers and ran Driver Cleaner and reinstalled them - No change

I used a adapter to plug my VGA into the DVI to see if that helped and nothing.

My LCD couldn't just crap out could it?

Any help appreciated.

One more thing I noticed.... Its the colors vibrance - it's gone. And I have no red now. Wierd.

Did you set the PC to the native resolution of the LCD? It sounds like your new graphics card just might be bad.

Well, after alot of fumbling around with my computer, I put my old 19 inch CRT on to see if it was my LCD moniter. My cart works fine, all the colors are there.

It's wierd, I tryed two different graphics cards and with my ti4600 the LCD wouldn't even turn on - no signal. With my 9800pro, the LCD would turn on but have no reds in the color. I think the vga connector is broke. Now using my old CRT, the colors seem so dull, I wish my LCD worked.

There isn't any sort of "autoadjust" or color-phase fine-tune setting on the LCD panel itself, is there? Does it have an on-screen display? What kind of input is it, VGA analog or DVI-D digital?

Have you visually inspected for any kind of bent or broken pins on the connector?

Wow, you where right on. One of my pins in my VGA connector has broken off and one is bent backwards. That sucks because I guess I am the only one to blame.

Anyways, how do you replace a VGA connector on a LCD moniter? Is it possible to do myself or do I need to find someone to do it?

If the VGA has a connector on both sides and doesnt just directly run right into the LCD like most CRT cables are then just go to the store and find a new VGA cable with the same ends as your current one and connect it in place of the old one. Problem solved.

It runs right into the LCD. Thats why it's a problem

If you dont have the monitor covered by a warenty you can take it to a store like Bestbuy and have them replace the cable or if you know how to solder well then you can just buy a new VGA cable and desolder the old one off and solder in the new one making sure that the wires are in the right place. If your LCD is still under a warenty then go to the store that you purchased it from and get it fixed for free.
