That's a sad tag-line, Lyfer. If it is true (not a joke) then you have my condolences.

In day to day apps like word, ie you wont feel alot of difference. Run some benchmarks to compare. 3d mark 2k1, SuperPI etc etc. You'll see a big difference by the numbers given. But as I said. IE, word etc you wont feel a difference at all.

no, the A64 was better. What he's saying is desktop applications wont be any different as most of them are hard drive limited for loading times. If you game, render, etc etc, you'll notice a HUGE difference. Also, that 9600 is really capping your system, upgrade to a 9800 Pro or a 6800GT if you can, you'll see an imense difference in games. Right now, however, the A64 is still a better choice than the P4.

You' re using the same Harddisk, so you won't feel a huge diference loading programs, just try some CPU intense test. You can be sure that P4 3.2 won't be any faster than A64 3200+. So stay calm, even I don't like your mobo.
I really can still see the difference between P4 2.00A and a Athlon Xp 2000+. Oh my AXP 2000+ was REALLY faster than P4 2.0.
