I've listed this for the third time on eBay, and no one has bid on it. I have no idea why. I really want to sell this video card though. Why do you think it isn't selling? I've tried different things, but nothing seems to get any bids. Please help!

I didn't read the auction over, but maybe your starting price is too high. How much is the card worth?

Hmmmm........good price, just give it time. There has to be a buyer out there. :)

Edit: Yea, you should of set the price lower. I meant if you were gonna compare that price to a online retailer. :p

have you tried selling it here in our fs/ft forum?

You could probably get $75 for it here. You have to start lower for an auction though.

I took a quick look at the auction, nothing looked out of the ordinary. Not having kept up on video cards in the last couple of years, I don't know what this card sells for. But my guess would have to be price is your issue.

I have found that sometimes a low opening bid with a reserve will get you interest and sometimes bids. Try that.

How much are you trying to get for the card?

The problem is partially that you are setting the first bid price so high. If someone is going to bid, they are almost making a commitment to buy. I would start it at $2 (like I always start all of my auctions at).

Or just sell it on the FS/T forums. You would definitely get $75 for it there.

Its an auction. People like to bid. You should start at a buck or so and put a reserve on it.

Working up to $75 is different than asking that price from the get go in the mind of the unwashed masses.

how about adding "geforce 3" to the title so people who only search for that see it too. now you'll have "geforce3" and geforce 3" covered, more hits never hurt.

Drop the starting price to $9.99 or even $.99. Have faith that it'll get bid up to a decent price. Or if you don't have faith, set a reserve.

I'll try that. I set it to $.99 with a reserve.

In my 6 years experience with eBay, I've noticed that nothing hurts auctions than these 3 things: high starting bid, low feedback, and reserves. If you're stuck with the low feedback for now, drop the other 2. Have a friend bid at the last second if you don't like the selling price. But usually, things sell for what they're worth.

First, advertise your auction ... opps already did that with this thread.
Second, I would drop Gigabyte from the title (I would never spell out gigabyte with a search). Instead, add Nvidia to the title. Extend this to a 7 day auction. Consider revealing the Reserve price in your ad or add a buy it now feature. State the shipping price more clearly. I had to look through all of your ad and finally found in in the payment area for the shipping information. Personally, if I was in the market for a GeForce Graphics card, I already know what I want. I don't need all that wording and text to wade through. $10 is a lot to ship an item. Also, $5 for insurance sounds harsh. No offense, but I think you are just giving money to Ebay right now. Every time it does not sell, you are out lisitng fees, and reserve fees, and time. Good luck.

1. You are ripping them off on shipping and insurance-and it was hard to find the charge in the first place. It needs to be clearly stated or people will assume you are not listing it for a reason.
2. New fan and ramsinks installed but you've never overclocked? I dont mean no disrespect but I hard time believing that. You dont just upgrade the fan and ramsinks for nothing.
3. You dont specifically offer a non-DOA warranty
4. TV-out?
5. Drop the "GV-GF3000" and add "video card" in the title. Consider dropping gigabyte and adding nvidia.
6. You have a reserve. Not neccesarily bad but I wont normally bid on reserve items unless the seller specifically states what the reserve is. I would advise the same to you.
7. Relatively low feedback

consider this constructive and not an attack. ;)

1. I changed that
2. I changed the fan because it was loud. I overclocked briefly (for about 5 minutes), but I changed it back so that I wouldn't damage the card. I'd consider that as not overclocking.
3. Good point.
4. I'll add that.
5. I can't change the title after someone's bidded on my auction.
6. Will do.
7. I'm working on it :p

Just some thoughts..

The shipping rates were weird.. $10 for shipping and $5 for insurance? If anything, pad the shipping, but not the insurance. You are just encouraging them not to get insurance, even if they want it. $10 for shipping was inline, but $5 insurance was not. I would've personally charged $6-$8 for shipping and add $2.00 or so for insurance.

I don't think it's necessary to post the reserve price. That's just me though.. I usually don't like to give warrantee's either, but in the case of your modded card, it's almost mandatory. The potential buyer has no idea what you did with this card.

This also leads to your feedback rating. You don't have that many feedbacks and this isn't a great item to sell for a newbie. There is too much trust involved IMO and your feedback rating hasn't really established you as a completely trustworthy person yet.

You probably should have said that the stock fan was too noisy instead of that it cooled better. This implies OC'ing.. Especially to me it does.

There are other little things that have been covered here.

I think that my biggest problem with your auction would have to be that you modded the card. Most people that buy on Ebay probably don't know about what you did and why you did it. I think that might keep them away from your card. Also, the fact that you modified it, implies overclocking.

This is totally different, but the same as far as I'm concerned. When I look to buy used motorcycles, I always steer clear of modified bikes. You never know if the mods were done correctly and people that mod their bikes, usually abuse them, so I always go for something that is bone stock.

I'm just babbling now. ;) Good luck with your auction.
