help with my dvd & cdrw!

DVD - pioneer 16x/40x
CD-RW - Yamaha 16x10x40

Problem: Just installed a fresh copy of Win XP Pro and both drives have the latest firmwares, but for some reason when I put in a disc into the drive the CD won't auto run like usual. I'm sure it's the XP cuz I used the same drive(s) to install XP in the beginning. The drive(S)'ll spin the disc for 3~5 seconds then stops. I can't install anything! Please help! thanks!

Does the drive show up in my computer and under the device manager?

Is auto play enabled?

well... sometimes it doesn't and somtimes it does. auto run should be on..

oh btw, where can I find that option (enable auto play) in XP pro? thx

Double Click 'My Computer'
Right Click your DVD or CD-RW drive
One of the tabs is autoplay.

the thing is when I pop in the CD the drive won't read (indicator won't blink or flash) and when I right click on one of those drives, 'My Computer' would crash..
