I am trying to use the old backup tapes that I have on the 8mm DAT Drive. I have an old Python/Archive DAT Drive. How can I get this to work? I recall I used to use Novaback for DOS back then.. any suggestions? I am currently running WinXP. Thanks..

BackupEXEC works on WindowsNT, but I'm not sure if that works with XP. There are a few out there that are made by Veritas, BackupMY PC (I think that's the correct name) is a personal backup software. I think the backup program that comes with XP might also work. From my experience with Python drives (an external and internal Seagate drive), it does not support formatting a tape, but you can erase the information off of it using the software. Hope this helps.

I get errors when using Novaback for Windows.. it says that there is a tape and prompts to rebuild indexes from tape.. then it tries to do this several times, then it comes up with a message stating that there is no tape drive found?? However, it does try and access the tape..

Can anyone help or suggest any solutions?
