Help with MSI K7T Pro2A bootup is RIDICULOUSLY SLOW... is it RAID controller card? or did I mess up with the settings??

I also had this long delay when booting and it was my network card. I figured out how to fix it was to go to Network in the control panel and under the tcp/ip settings make sure that wins resolution, and dns are disabled. As soon as i did this everything booted just like i would expect it to. I hope this helps you.

Where are you getting your boot delay? I get the delay right after it detects my IDE drives... while it's still in the BIOS ID stage, where you can see the date and ID of the bios, .. where it says "Please HIT DEL to enter Setup" or something of that nature... I don't think that pause has anything to do w/ OS related settings? or am I wrong?

i would just think its something in the BIOS?

Are you using a USB or PS/2 keyboard? I originally had a USB keyboard connected to mine. The system took forever to POST. Hope this helps...

Oh dude... THAT MIGHT be it... I have the Microsoft Keyboard InternetPro or something w/ 2 USB ports... dude, im gonna try that.. hold on! brb!

I have a microsoft ps2 keyboard.

I am also trying to reinstall win 98 on this box...holy cow...what a pain in the @ss.

Every other boot it give me a windows protection error. I boot into 'safe mode' then reboot and everything comes up fine.

I know its a 98 problem because 2000 works fine. I am so close to getting rid of this setup.

The wierd part is it installs just fine, until windows start its boot final boot up and PNP stuff, then all hell breaks loose. damn.
