Help with MS exhange server 2003

The company I work for just bought an office that belonged to another company. We basically bought the whole operation including computers and server. The exchange server is configured using the old company's domain and settings. Right now we are are using godaddy's email hosting service for email, but it is severely limited. I called godaddy and they showed me how to change the MX records, the problem I have is configuring our exchange server to match our domain. I've looked online and can't seem to find a solution to the problem. I really don't want to waste too much of your time... if you can direct me to site where I can solve the problem, please do. All help is appreciated. Thanks!

I'm afraid this is going to be a lot more complicated than you think. Exchange just doesn't work like that. You are going to have to either rebuild the entire directory with the new company's domain name, or create a new directory from scratch and use the migration tool to migrate the old settings (if you choose to keep them) to the new directory.

As a stopgap you can create new users in the existing domain and then add a recipient policy in exchange that will accept email for the new companies domain name.

I figured I would have to rebuild the directory, which is what I was afraid of. Seems to me that is the easiest/best way to do this. Thanks for your help.
