1: "Windows did not find any new modems attached to your computer."I swear I put one in. It's a US Robotics PCI V90 with Voice, all new, model # 2976 OEM. Tried different PCI slots. Reinstalled it several times. No luck.
2: No audio from SB Live Value sound card also on a PCI slot. Also tried different slots as well as reinstalling.
3: Enabling PCI Serial Controller which has a yellow question mark in Device Manager. The motherboard CD (ASUS CUSL2-C) does not seem to contain the drivers,if that is in fact the problem, and Windows 98SE does not have them either. No info on ASUS site. I wonder if the first 2 problems are not interraled with the last one.

The PCI Serial Controller is probably the modem, so try using the modem CD to find drivers for it. Once that's done your modem should work.

In response to Bacillus I believe so. But to be perfectly honest I am not sure. I had a problem with installing the Graphic Control Driver. How can I be sure? Is there a way of checking? ATA100 seems enabled, but I am not sure about this either now. First time I have done this.
In response to Wizkid how can you be sure that they are one in the same thing?I think you are mistaken here. Other suggestions?
