Help with Mike Tyson's Punchout for NES

I've pulled out the old NES for memories, since all my friends either have a PS2, XBOX, or GameCube. I'm not much of a gamer, but I really want to beat this game. I can't get passed Bald Bull (second appearance). That bull charge he does gets me every time. He also seems to gain energy right when i'm about to knock him out. Does anybody have any experience with this game and might share some tips? Thanks.

sad how i can remember that code from when i was in 5th grade or so, but i have problems with my own phone number..

Bald bull charges and takes 3 hops.. on the 3rd hop, right before he throws his uppercut, hit him with a gut punch. It will actually hit him in the face because he is hunched over, but just nail his ass on the 3rd hop.

I think he dodges right before he punches so you would use the left punch on him or vice versa.. hit him on the side he is on.

I dunno how, but I luckily got past Bald Bull 2 and Don Flamenco 2. Mr. Sandman just destroyed me. I don't know how you gamers do it. I was never really good at any video games, but I'm gonna make it my New Years resolution to beat Tyson. Now back for the rematch against Mr. Sandman...

As for beating the second bald Bull you just gotta time the hops on his Bull charge count 3 hops then throw a body blow. If you dodge the chage he will go again but this time take only two hops. You just gotta time a body blow on the hops.

Slag you are not the only one who remmebers that code. hehe that must have been like 14 years ago now for me. Anyways beating Tyson is pretty difficult. You gotta survive the first 1 minute and 20 secs. because during that time all his uppercuts knowck you out on one hit. But after that he can be taken down.

Mr. Sandman is one tough mofo. It took me FOREVER to beat him.

If I remember right, you have to be really patient with Sandman. There's only certain times where you're able to get an uppercut in after punching him, otherwise he recovers too fast and annihilates you. It always used to take me 3 rounds or most of 2 to wear him down.

Never got around to beating Tyson though :disgust:

I did beat tyson a few times a long time ago though. If I am not mistaken, there is a website that explains all the technique how to beat each boxer. Don't remember though... been a while.


edit: I think machoman is the hardest one though not sandman

I am proud to say I beat tyson numerous times.. always with sweaty palms.

Like another poster said, as long as you can dodge his single punch knockdowns for the first minute 20 or 30, its a fair fight after that.

I always had a problem with soda popinski.. that darn pink russian.
