I've been running 1 gig of Mushkin PC3500 Level One (2x512) in dual channel mode on my Asus P4800D-E. I run the timings at 2-3-3-7. I recently purchased another gig of Mushkin PC 3500 Level One (2x512). When I installed the memory, I immediately ran MemTestx86 3.2 (also ran MemTest-86 1.3). I get through most of a pass, but get errors during the 5th test.

I have adjusted the timings to every configuration possible (all the way to the most conservative, which I think was 3-5-5-9) and I get the same errors. Any other possiblities? I have tested the new sticks running only them, and they run perfectly stable at 2-3-3-7. So the problem is when I add a second gig.

Would adjusting the voltage be a possibility? Do you need more voltage for 2 gigs?

Thanks.

Edit: Gah, reposting as this is troubleshooting....

I think that your post in general hardware should get you the answer you need.

Once again the reminder: PC3200 operation (200 MHz _real_ frequency) is engineered, defined and specified for ONE single DIMM (per channel, of course). YMMV, but by the rules of the book*, two-DIMM operation is safe at 166 MHz and below. Try that.
