Help with Mazda3 front license plate mount

Does anyone know what size and type of screw they use to screw the license plate mount onto the car? I got a aftermarket front plate mount from rockauto but the screw doesn't come with it.

Don't most Euro/Asian cars use M6 1.0 for license plates? I believe both our Audi and Toyota do.

im reading the words that's molded onto the plate holder, it does say use 6mm self tapping to screw the plate onto the holder, but do i use 6mm screw to screw the holder onto to car too?

If there aren't any threaded inserts then possibly. What does this beast look like?

I believe they molded a part on the bumper to hold the screw behind the dimple that i am suppose to drill through, i saw it on a pdf for the miata, i couldn't find it anymore.

i plan to use 6mm self tapping screw to nail the thing in.

So this thing screws into the front of your bumper? Ew. I never bought a plate holder for my Contour because I didn't want to screw into the bumper. Instead, I bought two right angle brackets at Home Depot and screwed into the bottom of the bumper. This way if I ever took the plate off it wouldn't ugly ass holes that were visible.

A friend of mine bought a license plate bracket for his MS3 that bolts up to somewhere on the passenger side of the front bumper...no drilling into the bumper required. Might be worth looking into.

Just use some double stick tape, the good stuff is pretty much impossible to remove, but if you need to for some reason a little solvent should do the job without making holes in your bumper.

hmm, i know what ur talking about, his got a thingy to screw it into where you will put the tow hook. main reason I went for the bracket is because i bought the thing used and there's some scratch on the bumper and a bracket will cover it up perfectly. Which brand has good double side tapes?
