Help with laptop

I am going to purchase a laptop soon, and i need help with first picking out a nice one, and second, getting a good deal on it. The ones im interested in will be strickly used for school work and LIGHT gaming. I dont want none of this alienware blah blah blah stuff that cost 3 grand. were looking at 600 and less here.

what i am looking for:

ddr2 ram
perferably something other than "intel" graphics
and a decent processor

any help would be appriciated. Thankyou!
