HELP with kt7pro2a!

I just picked up a MSI K7TPro2A for my second comp, with a duron that will do 600@1000 1.85v. So I go to try and flash the bios so I can use that extra voltage, nothing happens, the flash just stalls. I reboot and it works fine, but of course the overclockers bios wont work, so then I try LiveBios, well they dont have the bios with the extra voltage on it. I read in another thread that you can possibly disable this lovely feature with a jumper, but if so where? If anyone knows how to do this I really need your help.

Thanks
Ian

pencil the L7 bridges just like you did the L1's. It will boot at a default voltage of 1.85 and you can turn it down from bios if you like. This way you can continue to use the offical MSI bios updates.

Thanks, I may just have to do that, but I am curious why the thing just hangs instead of flashing, live bios works...but I dont trust it much, and I really want that beta overclockers bios. Anyone else have a clue what might be going on? (and yes I tried the usual flashing techniques, with bootable floppy, straight from hardrive, etc.. etc.. nothing works...) Any help would be appreciated.

Ian,

I have heard nothing but bad things about the OC bios. I have the L7's penciled in on my Duron system and it works great. You gain nothing from the OC bios that you don't get from MSI's newest BIOS (4-way interleaving).

Some people swear by their OC bios, and I'm sure there is nothing wrong with it....but I just know what works for me.

Good Luck

Jimmy
