Hey guys
Just migrated from a KT7A to a KK266. What a board! Got everything in, set up, all my drives, CD-ROMs, UDMA, network card, its all working. Set my Athlon 1.4 to 1.5 for the time being (10x150FSB) using default voltage, all 100% stable (completed the full 16 hour Prime95 self test).
The problem comes today when I put my SBLive back in. On-board audio is Disabled. Drivers/Liveware are already installed from before (I didn't reinstall Windows I just changed boards), Windows detects and auto configs itself. Everything is working great. SBLive is on its own IRQ, using PCI Slot 3. No other PCI cards in the system.
Then I reboot the machine. Where Windows normally takes 20 seconds or so to boot, this time has now doubled. It is almost like some huge latency has been introduced to the PCI bus. Once in Windows everything seems to be working OK, but the HD speed seems a bit choked. If I remove the Live (by which I mean just pull out the card) Windows boots up nice and fast again. But the card back, Windows loads slow again.
Anybody know why this is? I am just about ready now to ditch the Live and go for the on-board audio!
Cheers!
