Help With Just Built Computer

I just built a new computer, athlon 65 3400+ on a socket 754 asus motherboard, with 6600gt as graphics, seagate HDD and rosewill ram. All the Hardware seems to be functioning correctly, however when i put in my windows cd, just about everytime as soon as it gets done anylising hardware configuration, the computer just shuts down. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like maybe a heat issue; does it also shut down after a few minutes if you leave it in BIOS or running memtest86? If so, check to make sure your fans are all running and that the heatsink is making good contact with the CPU.

I would reset the CMOS and make sure that the heatsink is firmly in place, then monitor the cpu temp and make sure it is not shutting down because the cpu is overheating.
