Alright, I have been given the task of fixing a computer that is using a PCChips M810LMR motherboards and an 800Mhz Duron. Well, it booted up just fine the first time i turned on the system..then I went into the BIOS and simply changed the boot order for the devices..save and restart..the machine will not POST now. After turning it on it will search the floppy then the CDROM then beep..it cycles through these actions until I turn it off. It will not POST even if i reset the CMOS. This is very confusing as the motherboard worked perfectly well until I changed the boot order in the BIOS. I sure hope SOMEONE out there can help me:confused:

what's the current boot order?
did you load optimal configuration / save and retry?

After changing the boot order, it will not POST..so I have no way of loading the optimal settings.. I did, however, reset the CMOS to no avail..it acts the same way as it did before. Searches the floppy, then the CDROM, then beeps..continuing in this cycle until I turn it off.

A situation like that happened to me awhile back, it turned out to be a faulty stick of RAM. Not sure if that will help you though.

The machine has now been tested with several other sticks of RAM that are know to work in other machines. It does not appear to be a problem with bad memory.

Hehe, I'm sure we all know that PCChips is crap..perhaps I will have to recommend that the owner of said motherboard buy a nice new nforce instead.
