help with inexplicable lock ups

it runs 3dmark2k, q3arena and counter-strike all day long just fine, but crashes in UT and sacrifice, project IGI after few minutes of playing. UT crashes 100% if i leave it in the intro sequence. funny thing is i am not pushing my radeon too hard so it cant be the gfx card, the cpu temp immediately after the crash was like 43C at highest and the heatsink was warm to touch. the only IRQs being shared are USB controllers and SBlive @11, have 4-in-1 4.29 beta and 7078 drivers for radeon. any ideas?

Well first off, set your cpu back to 600mhz and see if that fixes it. It's very true that an overclocked cpu can be just fine with several games, but not with others. If it still locks up at 600mhz, then you know your problem is elsewhere.

But that's where you need to start.

Are you running your memory at FSB plus PCI? If you are then thats most likely your problem. Take out the PC100 stick of memory and see if you have the same issues. - Its a thought -

i am trying different settings every time. actually, the pc100 stick at one time ran fine @133 cas2 so it is the ram to blame then its got to be the other stick (which btw is something i should try, thx)
right now i am runnin 110x8 @1.85, 3dmark2k is stable and got 5000pts. but UT still crashes at the same spot in the intro demo...

Have you tried with all your hardware at default speeds?

yes, same old story. anyways, i left it running ground control and when i came back it crashed in the menu. fuzzy logic tells me the cpu temp was 43c. does that sound too high to you?

If you are using the 4.29's did you have the problem with your previous drivers?
