help with IE settings

IE 6, windows XP

i ALWAYS lose my status bar, I've turned it on and exited the browser - but whenver i open more than 1 browser i lose the status bars.

also, i want movies to auto open in windows media player - i have it installed, but when i click a link to a mpg file it doesn't open...i have to right click and save target as
