help with IE please ??

if i right click on a link and 'open in new window', the newly opened window insists on popping up even though i want to look at the original page. while that new page is loading, i can keep choosing the original page and that darn window keeps popping up. netscape doesn't do this, but i would rather not use it for security and other reasons. i have a 17" monitor, but anything more than 800x600 makes reading too inconvenient. what else can i do?

I checked the options for IE 5.0, but didn't see anything to change this behaviour. Seems like your only option is to use another browser.

i think tweakUI has this "Keep Application Focus" (or something of a similar nature) which keeps the focus on the present application. it might work in your case!

Check the 'General' section. 'Prevent applications from stealing focus'.

Maybe it doesn't do what you want because IE is just one application, but who knows?
