Disclaimer: I have zero experience with VM
Problem: We have a dymo duo which after a windows update doesn’t work. Dymo is aware of the problem but the fix seems to far away. So I thought maybe get a VM running with windows 8.1.
I activated hyper-v in the bios installed activated hyper-v in windows (win 11 pro) and started a virtual machine.
I downloaded a windows 8.1 iso x64 from Microsoft, and tried to use it as an installer, but it simply threw an error message that it could not boot from it?
Also, since I just need to use it locally to run a USB printer, do I need to assign a network card to the VM? (I’ve already disabled my network once trying to get the VM going)
And is my project even possible?
