Help with HP 722C Printer

I have a 722C hooked up to an SMC Barricade router/print server. I've loaded the software for the router, and printing under Win2k is no problem, but it won't print in Win98/Me. I'm thinking it's the software that's giving me the problem, cuz in Win2k,only the drivers are loaded, where as in win9x, I can only install the HP printer software. Does anyone know the fix, or where i can get just the drivers for the printer? Appreciate the help.

Are you setting up the printer as a network printer under Win98/ME? If so, go ahead and install it like a network printer but try mapping LPT1 to the network location. That's what has worked for me. And it's only the 722C that gives me this much trouble. All the other HP printers work like a charm.

Does any of that help?

Well, you're trying to setup the 722C as a network printer on the win98 right? So in the properties for that printer under the Details tab, the print to the following port should read something like this... \\location\nameofprinter

What you want to try to do it hit the Capture Printer Port button and map LPT1 to the network address. That's the only way I've been able to make that printer accessible from another computer on the network.

Good luck.
