Hi
I just bought a new vid card to update my ti 4200 and when I put it into my p4 2553 asus p4pe system the new fx5700 went for about 20 seconds (xp did not even load fully)
then the machine stoped and would not re start. So I put the old ti4200 back in and all is good again. I then tried the fx5700 in another machine, and again the machine would not start. I returned the card and the shop and they says it is faulty.
My question is, could I have damaged the card by not removing the old drivers etc from the ti4200??? The fx5700 manual says for win NT you need to remove old drivers etc but not in win 98, or win 2000 but did not mention xp???
I am a bit scared to put the replacement card in if it was something I did. I dont think it was me as winxp did not even load fully then stoped and that was the card.
Thanks if you can help
