Sup guys,

I just recently when from a Pentium 4 3.2 to a FX 55 and I see on the FX 55 box that it can do 2,000MHz Bus, but in windows and like sandra it says its 800fsb, how is that?

Also can sombody tell me how high I can go on the Hyper Transport Frequency i get 1x,2z,3x,4x,5x and what does that do?Also what should be the PCI Express Clock? What should be the default Cpu Voltage on the FX 55? LOL one last thing. What should I set the Peg Link Mode,Peg Root Control and the PEG Buffer Length to on the Leadtek PX6600 GT TDH Exteme Version.

O and my motherboard is the asus a8n-sli deluxe. Hope you guys can help.

ok, the 2000mhz is abit miss leading

base cpu frequency = 200mhz, this is x13 = 2.6Ghz for the cpu.

this is also x5 to give a hyper transport of 1000mhz, now its either becuase of dual channle or that amds cpu/fsb are double pumped (sending two bits at a time. (intel are quad pumped hence their 800 fsb) ) so 1000mhz x 2 = 2000mhz

i think basically the 2000mhz in in relation to what tthe system effectively is. the HT is 1000mhz, but as it can process 2 bits of info at once...its like having a 2000mhz HT that can only process 1 bit at a time.

they do this for marketing as they know bigger numbers sell

so your CPU mulitplier should be x13
you hypertransport should be x5

as for PCI express clock i have no idea, i remember hearing 75Mhz but DO NOT TAKE THAT AS RIGHT

default CPU voltage well being a 0.13micron part i would expect about 1.5volts? (some one correct me if im wrong) maybe bit more?

and as i dont have PCI Express i havent even heard of those last three things sorry

If your cpu is running at 13x200Mhz with HT of 5X then you are running at 1000Mhz (2000Mhz DDR).
As for the 1-5X muilpliers for HT, those are used to make sure the HT bus stays within 1000Mhz or lower, thet highest you should try to push it to is 1050Mhz. Now the default settings for the FX-55 is 13x200Mhz, take the 200Mhz x 5X and you get 1000Mhz for the HT bus. If you plan to run at anything over 200Mhz you will need to use the 4X muiltplier and 3X for anything over 250-260Mhz. I hope that makes sense?

The default Voltage for the FX-55 is 1.5V

As for the rest, I can't help you since I don't own a SLI board nor do I plan to...

Leave the PCIE at its default clock of 100MHz.

You can get away with up to about a 220 x 5 HT on the A8N-SLI.

I found this to work quite well, althougth I am now running a 250 x 4.

I get the 200 x 13 = 2600 I mean thats basic, but thanks for expalining that to me. The issue is that its not saying I have a 1000MHz bus its saying I have 800 like a Pentium 4. Sandra 2004 says it, Asus AI Booster says it. I would think it would say 1000MHz bus.

There is another problem as well every thing I do in cmos thats revoles around changing the memory timings or cpu speed or even the voltage it get set back to all Auto and stuff it doesn't keep it after I save and exit cmos.

One last thing is there away to change the Bus on the FX55 with out uping the speed of the cpu? I mean how can you get to 2000MHz bus and be overclocking your cpu that I with it does that make since?

Ok it looks like the HTT multiplier is set to 4x with the bus at 200 to give you your 800.

You need to set it to 5x.

As for overclocking, it's a bit of a pain but read this post
