Just a question to see if anyone else has had this problem. I have an abit kt7a raid board with 1 gig athlon and 256 mgs pc133 memory with geforce2mx 200 video card. whenever i try to put the fsb at 133 with the 7.5 multiplier instead of 100mhz with the 10 x multipllier all i get is a black screen and the system will not boot . I can reboot and reset it in the bios to the previous setting and it boots again . Is there anything else in the bios that i need to change to enable this properly?

your problem isn't the motherboard...

from what i can tell from your description.. the problem is you have a "multiplier locked" CPU
your system did not boot because the multiplier value you set on your BIOS config did not match w/ your CPU's multiplier config.. if you want to unlock your CPU just pencil the L1 bridges on the ceramic part of your CPU..

it should look something like this.

(before)

L1 . : : : :
what you should you do is connect the dots to look like this
(after)

L1 . I I I I

use an H pencil lead or a conductive ink, careful not to bleed the ink all over the CPU

Dimzie is right...most probably a locked CPU. Unlock using his way.
