Help!

Driving me BONKERS!!

I cannot figure out why my secondary nerding computer is freezing during any real gaming... Diablo 3 & BF3 both freeze after playing for a while, seemingly random.

Just tried furmark, ran for over 20 minutes no problems...

Loaded up Prime95, and it froze within 5 minutes...

Temps across the 4 cores were 58, 55, 62, 56. I wouldn't think 62C is high enough to lock up?

Perhaps a ram problem?

Ideas? Things to try?

Thanks!

Sounds like defective hardware to me. In order of descending probability:

Video card
RAM
mobo
PSU
CPU

Took RAM out of the equation, had a spare set and it did the same thing... don't have a spare video card though :(

Oops, forgot to update sig... CPU is running at default speeds

-edit-

Installed speedfan to double check my temps, and apparently Temp3 is running at -128C LOL

You could try resetting the motherboard BIOS options to optimized defaults. You may also want to look to see if a BIOS update is available for the motherboard.

It could be your ssd perhaps,i had a patriot m28 torqx that used to lock up my system at random,or nearly lock up doing light writing cycles.

No SSD in the secondary nerding computer, however it does have an older 80GB Seagate that makes quite a bit of noise...

I have a spare 80GB SSD I may try in there tonight :)

How long did you have it oc'd for and at what voltage? Try bumping the vcore a little and see if prime still causes a crash.

Bumped vcore to 1.28v, so far so good in Prime95, lasted longer than it did last time, thats for sure!
