Help with forum software please

I am part of a forum where a user is using a anonymizer to spam the forum. Is there a way to stop this since the user is using adifferent email every time? The forum is VBulletin 2.2.2

Thanks
Dave

I would block his IP or if he is using a dial up I would block a range of IPs. (Hopefully he is not using a dialup but if he is hope that it is not AOL or MSN...)

You could also stop all account activation's for a period.

Also I don't know about Vbulletin but can you require the registering user to get an e-mail with there password?

And I don't know what an anonymizer is. Either that or I am not familure with that term.

Well, for blocking a range, that is not possible because several other members have IPs in the same range. I should clarify that this is a 60,000 user base forum.

The forum sells software and renders a service. The new users need to be able to access tech support.

The forum does require a password and it is emailed. The email must be valid.

An anonymizer is a Proxy service.

THanks
Dave

I have another question. So to sign up he or she has to get a new e-mail address then get a new login name and password. He or She then has to check there e-mail and get the password to login and spam....

Also so this proxy service is just masking his IP number? If so why could you not block the IPs for this proxy service? Anyone using it is questionable in my mind. (I could have this wrong, if so just tell me 🙂 )
