My A8N-SLI showed up today and I finally have decided to drop the cash and get a FX-55. I have decided to go with Corsair XMS memory. Of the new 4400 memory should I get the 4400 with a latency of 3-4-4-8 or the 4400C25 with a latency of 2.5-4-4-8? Is there much difference?

Not much of a diff. unless you plan to OC. They are probably made out of the same process, but the 4400C25 is just an excellent version that could handle more. You could end up getting a regualr 4400 that could do the same. It is just assured with the other. What is the price diff.?

Both have been in the $270 range for a pair of 512s. But I just did a quick check on PriceWatch and now eXcaliberPC.com has a pair of the 4400s with the Pt heat sink for $199. This is the first time I have built an AMD rig and wasn't sure if there would be a big difference in the two memories.

You do not need high-end memory even to overclock. See Zebo's stickied 939 Memory Matrix in the CPU/OC forum. Get 2x512MB value RAM from Corsair or Mushkin ($140), pocket the money, and have fun :)

Anubis, if he didn't plan to overclock, why in the world would he buy TWINX memory? ;)
