Help with Disk Management

Hi,

There's 20GB unallocated on my hard drive. When I try to create a New Partition under disk management the option is greyed out. I have 3 other partitions that operates fine. Appreciate any help I can get.

Dell Dimension 4600
Windows XP Home SP1
P4 2.4Ghz
RAM 512mb
Maxtor 120GB

I have a suspicion that you created an extended partition that didn't use all of the remainder of the hard drive not used by the initial primary partition. You would have to delete the current extended partition (** backup your data!) and create a new one that uses all of the unused space. After creating that, you can create as many logical partitions you wish (within the extended partition), until all of the hard drive is used.

** Note that your current extended partition may contain 1 or 2 of your existing partitions.
