Help with Dell Dimension 4600

Hey all, just got my 4600 from the dell deal of 2? weeks ago and was wondering what type of motherboard is siting in there, is it propriety? Are there any bios' that I could flash and be able to overclock with etc. Thx!

It is most probably an Intel OEM motherboard with proprietary power supply and case connectors. Being an Intel, I would be surprised if it is receptive to overclocking. According to the Dell support site at http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/systems/dim4600/en/sm/specs.htm#1084976, it has the 865PE chipset, and hence probably the Intel D865PERL OEM board.

Hoping that a Dell motherboard will overclock is like hoping it will rain money. Ain't gonna happen. The only Dell I ever knew to overclock was my old PPro that had an unmarked jumper that took it from a 200 to a 233.

If you want to flhas your Dell board with a non-Dell BIOS, why not just send the system to me instead, since either way you'll be out a motherboard.
