Wow... did not know the non-Intel SATA controllers were that much suck. Was wondering about those RST drivers too.

My friend only has 1 sata 3 port on his mobo and it's by Marvel, the others are listed as p55 sata II. He's using a OCZ Agility II so probably best to use 2 or does it run faster in the sata 3 port?

I'm having similar results, but when I go into my bios to activate AHCI I can't boot into windows anymore. It just flashes a blue screen and reboots.

I have a GA-EG45M-UD2H and a Plextor 128gb SSD. This motherboard only supports SATA II, so I'm not expected crazy speeds, but I was just wondering what the deal is when I try to enable AHCI. Any thoughts? My SSD is plugged into the SATA 2_0 slot.

Hi Annon,

If you installed Windows in IDE mode you need to apply a Registry fix before you can boot in AHCI mode. See the link I posted in post 25 above.
