Please help me-I am trying to get my Ballistix to the speed that Anandtech has managed to get to (280 at 10x). When I try it I get a error message from windows saying it is missing files. I have managed to get it stable at 270 but not 280. My rig: DFI NF4 Lanparty UT SLI, FX-55, 1gig Ballistix pc3200, XFX 6800gt@ultra, Zalman 7700.

Voltages? Temps?

Run RAM at a divider to see if your CPU can handle 280x10 alone (with RAM at a lower speed).

Also, running memory 1:1 with the processor doesnt increase performance by a large amount. Youre better off getting the best OC with a RAM divider. But, if youre really devoted to 1:1, then you can run your computer anyway you want (and Ill probably still end up helping you).

What volts?

You don't want to run ballistix 1:1 at that speed cuz you HAVE to use 2T.. it's likes 200-250Mhz @ 2.5-2-2-8 1T

Use a divider also 2.8-2.9 volts.

I did get my Ballistix to run 280MHz @ 3-3-3-7 1T 2.9V but it was with a lower multiplier. Maybe llike Zebo says you just can't get the ram to run at those speeds when you're also pushing your cpu (at least that's what I think he was saying). Mine performed their best when running a divider with the ram at 250MHz 2.5-2-2-7 1T 2.9V. Ran that configuration 24/7.

The review stated that they had the ram at 2.9 volts. I have to get it to 3.1 volts to be stable. I usually have the cpu at 2.86 gigs so running it at 2.8 gigs isn't a problem. I am wondering if I needed to se something in the ram settings screen other than the four important timings.

I found that Ballistix craps out fast over 270 or so. I also found that the DFI just doesn't like it very much (things got so hairy with it when I put in my SD chip that I finally gave up on the stuff). What BIOS are you running? I found that 310 offered the best stability with it, but the 414 and 510 betas were just awful.

You have an FX run 1:1 using a higher multi. 2.5-2-2-8 1T less than 250 is faster than any ram I know of other than UTT. Yes faster than 300Mhz TCCD and faster than itself @280 which anand showed. His 280 "looks" faster because he's running 200 More Mhz on processor.

In sum Ballistix below 250Mhz, TCCD above 260 Mhz. UTT if you want danger.

If I were you I'd try 2-2-2-8 1T 225x12. Same 2700 Mhz with extremly low latency. May need 2.9 or 3 volts for memtest stable.

Thanks for the help. I was able to get it stable at 225x11 2-2-2-8 1T. However, I was also able to get it stable at 260x11 which put the cpu at 2.86 2.5-2-3-6. Which is the better config?

Perhaps you can help me, I cant get the ballistix past 240 with 3-4-4-8 2.85 volts. It is screwed up. I can run the ram all day 5:4 2-2-2-5 with the proccy at 250, but I cant even run superPI with the ram at that.
