help with computer!!

need some help, my ethernet stops working after a while, after i turn off my computer and turn it back on it works fine but then after a while it goes back to not working, any ideas?? thanks

EDIT: ok, check to see what progs are in the background if none that shouldn't be there check to make sure the card is in tight (after you unplug your comp of course;))

are you sure its your nic? might it be that your ISP is having problems? that happens sometimes with some of my pcs.

no its not a prob with the isp, my roomate are hooked up to the same thing and his is working fine
