Help with computer: wont boot/post

Went to turn on m PC this morning bios flashed, seemed to recognize drives and then the display went black. Rebooted a few times -- same things.

Disconnected GPU and used IGP. Same thing.
Stripped it down to just MB/CPU/RAM. Same thing.
Can't get into bios at all (hit del key and it still goes to black screen)

Monitor eventually goes into standby due to no signal.

Don't no really what else to do 🙁

Help.

Since the screen works during the BIOS part of the boot sequence, pretty much all the hardware is proved good.

You most likely have some sort of software issue or it might be as simple as the video going to an unused port (I get this sometimes where I want to use the monitor but the output goes to the TV instead).

It might also be as simple as a video signal out of range, like maybe some setting got messed up somehow.

I doubt you have a hardware issue, but it is possible.

theres only 1 monitor hooked up - so cant be going to an used port
Ive reset the bios (jumper) and I still get the same issues
cant be video out of range -- I have nothing hooked up (no HDDs etc) should be dumping me to a no OS prompt
 
It was/is the monitor.
Plugged in an old 19" 4:3 LCD I had laying around on VGA and it works.

Bummer is VGA only. Which means I can't use my GPU.
Which means I have to go shopping for a new monitor.

Frraaaaaaaaaaaaaack
