Ok, sorry what I said earlier I just read it again and it was stupid.
Thanks, for all the help though. I'm planning on getting the retail card soon and I'll fire it up and see how it runs, just like you guys said. Thanks for all the help

Go to the above website and call the number there...they will help you identify what Power Supply you have or can upgrade to. Ask if it is a standard ATX PSU. If it is, a good PSU can be had for 30-50 dollars, if you need it. I don't see anything wrong with putting a 9800Pro in that machine. Take it to a LAN party and watch everyone else's jaws drop when they see what's inside. You might also consider upgrading the RAM as was mentioned above. Good luck.

EDIT: and welcome to AT (ignore the bonehead above who made the "stupid" comment)

If that system is using some kind of special PS, then a Standard ATX PS may not work either(without some customization), ATX PSs won't have the necessary connectors. I'll put another vote in for: Plug the vidcard in and find out. There's no harm in trying.

Ok, thanks a lot guys. Glad to be here. I plan on getting the card in one-two weeks so I'll post then about it. I might need some installing it, but I can just have a friend do that for me. Thanks a lot I really appreciate it.

Thats some BS

So what if emachines are cheap. An Athlon XP is the same processor regardless of the brand name of the PC

That computer would be fien with a 9800 pro. If you need a new power supplu I would suggest an Antec. for the 9800 pro, you can always grab one at best buy, and if it doesnt work out, you can return it.

I got my comp for about 300-400 bucks with rebates. It's pretty nice for the specs being that cheap I THINK. I just now got into extensive research for comps and stuff like that.. i.e video card

Ok I just looked at my power supply; and yes, it was a 250 watt max. I THINK its a standard version it said Model: Atx 250. Thats standard correct? If I do update it, what kind would you recommend?

Ya, I called that line and I talked to the guy for a few, he said It is a minimum requirement for that particular card to get at least 300 watts, and I need to get like Micro Atx 300 Watts.. So basically I'm clueless with my power supply :)

If eMachines told you it was a microATX PSU then you will be very limited as to what kind of unit you can get. Powmax has a 230W microATX for $22.00 at Directron.com Check them out. They also list a microATX psu that says specifically eMachines.

I have changed a few microATX PSU including some eMachines models. Also, check the dimension of your case and make sure you have clearance to physically fit the Radeon 9800Pro in there. It's a big card going into a small case.

Jsongz, please make sure that the card will fit. Looking at the specs, the case is pretty small. there may not be enough clearance for the card, (7.25"w x 14.125"h x 16"d )

OH, I didn't even think about that, man I have to find the size for that card then..
Note Just a guess and just making sure, but is the 9800 card bigger than the 7000 (I'm guessing yes lol)

--Edit--

If someone has this card can you please tell me the dimensions? For some reason I am having a hard time find them.
