Help with burner

Hey guys I have a 24x liteon burner on a 900 tbird system. I have the cdrom and the cdrw drive on the same ide channel. My problem is that it takes like 10 minutes to burn a cd. What can I be doing wrong? I'm using Nero to make the cds, and I run Win ME. Thanks in advance.

try putting the cdrw & reader on different ide channels. most likely burnproof is constantly being activated leading to prolonged writing time.
also check that both drives are using dma transfers!

Read the manual, It should take about 5 minutes to cache the disk onto the hard drive, and 5 mintutes to burn it unless you're using on the fly copying which it should warn you about sharing the same ide channel for that.
