I have an:

  • amd 1 gig tbird
    abit kt7a-raid motherboard
    256 mHz pc133 ram
    plexwriter 12/10/32a
    pioneer dvd
    soundblaster x-gamer
    ati radeon 64ddr vivo
I want to build a network. I've purchased the linksys etherfast 10/100 Lan card. model# LNE100tx. Problem is that when I install the card in the motherboard and then reboot, the computer doesn't boot. Anybody have any ideas how to solve this little problem of mine?

Try another port? You're not using the PCI slot next to the AGP port are you? That might cause an IRQ conflict with your video card, something want to avoid. Try it in one of the other slots. Check our your manual for the mobo to see what slots are defaulting to what IRQ and pick one that's not in use.

Have you updated your chipset drivers? Try viatech.com or viahardware.com.

What operating system?

Have you gone to the LinkSys website and downloaded updated drivers?

Good Luck
