help with build

hello guys i want to build a new rig so any help is much appreciated
first of all i'm from Romania...about budget it is not really restricted
i will be using it for some gaming...surfing...movies x264 etc...
the thing is that i want to begin with the Shuttle SX48P2 Deluxe barebone ( http://www.shuttle.eu/en/deskt...abid-72/170_read-14640 ) ... and i'm inclined to get the Q9550 processor since i don't intend to do any overclocking at all...
now it gets tricky since the shuttle barebone that i'm going to buy only has 450W PSU...
i need advices on GPU, Memory ddr2 or ddr3 (i would prefer 4gb ddr3)...how much mhz etc.
thanks in advance!

The mobo in that shuttle only takes ddr3, you should get the slowest, cheapest 2x2gb of ddr3 you can find though, because the slowest speed of 1066mhz is allready more then enough.

GPU, HD4870 since it's a lot cheaper then the gtx260 in Europe. 450w PSU should be able to handle it.

What's attracting you to that shuttle? DDR2 is a lot more cost effective than DDR3 right now. You're really not getting any increase in performance to go along with the increase in cost.

Same thing with choosing between 1333 and 1600 as far as DDR3, if you decide to go that route. The 1600 doesn't really offer a Core2 setup any additional performance even though the price is higher. This is especially true if you're not overclocking. The difference in performance between your setup running DDR2-667 and DDR3-1600 would be a couple percent at best.

because i like the design and the small factor...
so Q9550 + HD4870 until now...the other parts any suggestions? thanks

Well all Shuttles look pretty much like that, don't they? Or is there not a DDR2 version that appeals to you?
