Help with ASUS A7V and TBIRD 1.1

Hi all,

I have ASUS A7V, 1.1G TBird and 128MB Zues PC133 unbufered SDRAM. When I tried to put them together, system didn't boot up. All the message I had was the repeated long beeps which means "there is no DRAM installed" (as written in motherboard manual). I checked the jupers and switches in the mother board. They were set to default and jumpless positions. I tried these RAMs to my PIII PC then they both worked.
Do you have any idea what happened to my system?

Thank you

I don't know if it is still an issue, but at one time you had to be very picky about what kind of ram you use with athlons.

Did you try another stick from one of the other computers?

Did you see this:

1/23/01 - Might as well see if this works, if not, no harm done. If you're one of the people who can't boot, period at 133Mhz with a KT133A board, try this:

Boot at 100Mhz FSB, with jumper (if applicable) in 100Mhz position
Set the multiplier lower, voltage up
Set everything to defaults
Shut machine off, turn off power
Change (if applicable) the jumper to 133Mhz
Try rebooting.

Tell me whether or not it works for you. Idea came from AMDZone's forums.

If this sounds an awful lot like what I suggested you do with a balky KT133 multiplier, it is. Let's see whether this works or not, if it does, that's a lot better than the likely alternatives. Ed

I tried to put a PC100 DIMM from my PIII to but it also didn't work. I still have the same problem

I had a problem similar to yours with my A7V and tbird 750. It was a bad motherboard. I would return the motherboard and get a new one, I called tech support and troubleshooted for like a week and so they sent me a new one and everything worked fine.
