help with annoying network password window

sorry
Win98 for an OS
I went into control panel/networks and checked the quick logon button
and it still pops up when booting.
Any ideas?

thanks

Theres a registry hack for this somewhere...I can't recall it off the top of my head though...Have you tried a google search?

Go into the network in Control Panel, and remove the "Client for Microsoft Network" option.
You wont be prompted to logon anymore.

OR you can do this:

Go to Control Panel -> NEtwork

Select default logon drop down menu and set it to "Windows Logon" Hit apply and the reboot when asked.
Next time you start up it will ask you for a password. just hit enter, dont put anything in...voila! it will never ask again.
The problem with removing the Client for Microsoft Networks is that if you need to get to a shared resource on another Windows System you are out of luck.
If you dont need to get to any shared drives then nuke it.
