Help with Adobe Illustrator...

I'm trying to practice doing the project we did in class today, but I forgot how to do something. In Illustrator 10, there is a flame symbol. When you select it, there's a way to show all the points or outlines or something and that's what I want to do and can't remember how. (You know...where it outlines/shows the path and it gives all the points and you can tweak it.....)
Do any of you know how to do this? It's driving me nuts. lol

Okay, here's the project I tried to re-create at home. What I wanted to do, was make the flames seperate. When I did that in class, I could drop a shadow so that each layer popped out. Now...if you look at it, first of all it's an illustrator format so you can see it in Illustrator or in Adobe Acrobat. I prolly could have saved as a .jpg or something, but I'm not sure how to yet. If you know how I can...let me know. Oh, and..... I'm just starting out. This was my third class. No laughing at my feeble attempts at art! 😉
